What is Booqland?

Booqland is a UAE-based bookstore and social impact initiative committed to making books accessible, affordable, and meaningful. We sell a curated collection of new and gently used books at budget-friendly prices — and we use the proceeds to support literacy programs and donate books to underserved communities.

At Booqland, we believe every book deserves a second life — and every reader deserves a chance to discover it.

Can I shop in-store or online?

We operate primarily online, but follow us for updates on pop-up shops and book events across the UAE.

How do book sales support literacy?

60% proceeds from book sales help fund our literacy outreach work — from shipping books to underserved areas to supporting NGO-led education programs.

Are all the books you sell second-hand?

We stock pre-loved but in excellent condition. We also stock brand-new titles at accessible prices.

Do you sell e-books?

Not right now. We’re kind of obsessed with the feel of a real book — the feel, the flip and being offline for a while. But hey, never say never. We might explore e-books in the nearest future.

Do you have Arabic books?

We currently stock a small but thoughtful selection of Arabic titles, and we’re excited to expand it soon. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when new Arabic books arrive.

What are Booqland Bundles?

Bundles are themed packs like:

They come beautifully packaged and often include a small extra like a bookmark or note.

Can I send a book as a gift?

Absolutely — you can add a gift note at checkout or drop it to us on WhatsApp. We’ll wrap it up with care and make you look good.

Can I get a personal book recommendation?

Yes! Just WhatsApp us and tell us what you’re feeling or going through. We’ll match you with something that fits.

Orders & Delivery

How long does delivery take?

Most orders in Dubai arrive the same day or next day. For Sharjah & Abu Dhabi, it’s usually next day to 48 hours.

Do you offer same-day delivery in Dubai?

Yes! Orders placed before 11:00 AM are eligible for same-day delivery within Dubai. Orders after that will be delivered the next business day.

Do you deliver outside Dubai?

Yes, we deliver to all Emirates in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Delivery takes 1–2 working days.

How much is the delivery fee?

Dubai: AED 10
Other Emirates: AED 15
Orders above  AED 100: Free

Can I track my order?

Yes! Once your order is confirmed, we’ll WhatsApp you with delivery updates.

How will I know when my order is arriving?

You’ll receive a confirmation message after placing your order. Our courier will also contact you on the day of delivery to coordinate drop-off.

What if I’m not available when the courier arrives?

Don’t worry, we’ll try up to two times. If both attempts fail, your order may be canceled or rescheduled with a fee.

Can someone else receive my package for me?

Yes, a friend, family member, or building security can receive your order on your behalf.

Do you deliver on weekends or public holidays?

Yes, we deliver throughout the week.  On public holidays also.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet — we’re keeping it local (for now)! We currently ship only within the United Arab Emirates. But who knows?

How can I pay?

We accept online payments via Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, plus Cash on Delivery (within Dubai).

Can I pay with Cash on Delivery (COD)?

Yes, we accept Cash on Delivery across the UAE. You can also pay securely online with your card.

Will you pick up the books?

Yes we will. If you’re in the UAE and we approve your donation batch, we can arrange a pick-up or a convenient drop point.

Where do the books go?

We work with purpose at our core.

🛍️ We resell some of your pre-loved of them at affordable prices in our store — making books accessible to low-budget readers in the UAE

🤝 Proceeds from these sales go to NGOs supporting literacy, education, and book access in several communities via NGOs within Africa and Asia.

📚 Newly donated books are sent to schools and libraries universities, refugee camps or mobile libraries especially in areas with little access to reading materials across Africa and Asia.

How we get this done

We work with over 10 NGOs across Africa and a few others within Asia to make sure that each community receives the books its readers need. Weare looking to expand as always so for partnerships, kindly contact us.

Can we donate non-English books?

Absolutely – we’re always happy to accept French, Arabic and Farsi books.

How do I get books to you?

Just reach out — we’ll guide you through everything you need to know to deliver your books to us.

Why dont you accept single use items?

Single-use items (like activity books with one-time use pages, disposable worksheets, or partially used workbooks etc) cant be reused or passed on to multiple readers, often already marked or written in, Take up valuable shipping/storage space without lasting impact, does not align with our mission of promoting lasting access to books and literacy.

What other items do you not accept?

  • Damaged or Torn Books – Books with missing pages, water damage, mold, heavy writing, or broken spines.
  • Outdated Textbooks – Especially those over 10 years old or irrelevant to current curriculums.
  • Encyclopedias & Dictionaries – Often outdated, bulky, and rarely requested.
  • Magazines, Newspapers, & Journals – Not suitable for long-term reading or resale.
  • Books Promoting Hate, Discrimination, or Violence – Content must align with our values of inclusion and learning.
  • Books in Poor Condition – Dirty, marked-up, or excessively worn books can’t be passed on or sold.

What to keep in mind about your donations.

Your donated books should be reusable books (storybooks, novels, educational books with lasting value)

They should be clean, intact books that can be enjoyed by more many readers.

Returns & Issues

My order arrived damaged — what should I do?

We inspect every book with care — but if yours arrives damaged, just let us know within 24 hours. We’ll investigate and make it right with a replacement or a refund. No stress, no fuss.

Can I return a book if I change my mind?

Because we operate with fast-moving logistics and offer books at very accessible prices, we’re only able to accept returns for items that arrive damaged or incorrect. That said, our team is super responsive if something’s not right.
